Welcome
The Columbia Global Centers Initiative is part of Columbia University's effort to expand its global engagement. The Global Centers are regional hubs that host programs and activities that enhance the quality of research and learning at the University and around the world. This network of global partnerships brings together scholars, students, public officials, private enterprise, and innovators from a broad range of fields to do collaborative work.
Each center pursues University-wide core activities, with an emphasis on projects that encourage various professional schools and the disciplines in Arts and Science to work with one another. Some of the research and scholarly initiatives are regionally focused, while others involve multiple centers, and in some instances the full complement of centers is engaged across many continents. The University plans six to eight global centers when the program is at full strength.
